Interested in a combination of traditional and digital medias, I am currently drawing the two together. In today's modern world the Traditional skills so valued in the past are being endangered by the new wave of Technology, Artists and Illustrators who create many of their pieces in a digital form.
I enjoy the slickness of the digital world, but yearn for the tactile quality of painting and inking by hand. Together I create my characters and settings. I am focusing primarily on the Traditional this semester. I scan in hand made textures, hand inked lines and even hand colored pieces and add to them in Photoshop with layers and further overlays.
Currently I am attending Maine College of Art as an Illustration Major in my Junior year. I am aiming to not only graduate with my BFA but also with a minor in Drawing, with honors, in the Spring of 2013. My passions are for figure drawing, charcoal, and character design.
